Custom Templates

QuickerSite (v1.6.7) is prepared to be 100% template-driven. This feature will be very useful to experienced webmasters and/or webdesigners (only). A strong knowledge of HTML and CSS is required when designing/modifying templates for QuickerSite! Activating a template takes over all built-in design features of QuickerSite, including its basic layout, its menu, its colors and styles.
What is a template?
A template is a layout for a website, mostly written in HTML. This HTML-code often includes references to (background-) images and stylesheets (CSS files).
Where can I find nice templates?
In fact, any website can be turned into a QuickerSite template! In most cases however, templates (or websites) are copyrighted. Fortunately, there are some portals that promote and distribute free templates! Some of them are http://www.free-template-ports.com , http://www.oswd.org/ and http://www.openwebdesign.org.
How do I activate a template for my QuickerSite?
Under Setup/Design, you can either select or create a template. Selecting a default template will replace all design-elements of QuickerSite! Alternatively, you can select a template for a single (or some) page (s). You can also have multiple templates. You can easily copy templates to create a new template based on another.
How does a QuickerSite template work?
All elements of a QuickerSite page (its text, its title, its form, feed or catalog, the menu, ... etc) can be included into a template by adding their corresponding variable-name between [brackets]. E.g.: [PAGEBODY] wraps the main text of any page into a template. Check out the complete list of available variables.
